Old Humppila Station Day -Humppila 150 Years

At Humppila's old station, you can experience the atmosphere of a joyful summer event and come and experience how it feels to travel on a real narrow-gauge train.

The museum railway's Humppila station area has a program aimed at all ages throughout the day: the station park offers a free bouncy castle (weather reservation), Mölkky game, croquet, and a nice get-together, for example with a picnic. The station's cafe is open all day.

- You can also become a market seller at Humppila station. There is a lot of space in Asemapuisto. Remember to bring your own sales table or stall! There is no charge for points of sale.

Small market

In the area of Humppila old station, a small-scale flea market will also be organized from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can get there to sell by pre-registration and the market places in the station's park are free. Railway Apple Tree planting

At 11:30 a Railway Apple Tree will be planted at Humppila station. The planting commemorates the 120th anniversary of the Railway Apple Tree and at the same timne we want to beautify the park at Humppila's old station. At the time, the railway station parks were often the first parks in the community and they were looked after exemplarily well. In the summer, there were competitions between different railway stations as to which station is the most beautiful railway station in Finland with its parks.

The Railway Apple Tree originates from the nursery of the State Railways Central Garden in Hyvinkää, where it has been cultivated as an ornamental tree for Finnish railway stations. The father of the railway apple tree is considered to be Willy Nykopp, who served as the chief gardener between 1896 and 1928. However, it is not known whether he only discovered the tree or whether he himself was involved in breeding it.

Steam trains to Minkiö

216 / 5 000 On Humppila Old Station Day, steam locomotive drawn trains run between Humppila station and Minkiö station and diesel trains continue further to Jokioinen. The price of a return trip for Minkiö is €12 and Jokioinen €20, half price for 12-4 year olds.
