Next to the Jokioinen Museum Railway station, across the tracks of the Turku-Toijala railway, is the VR Humppila station. The station is relatively new; it was re-built in 1982 after the old Humppila station was burnt down in 1973 when the station post office was burgled. The new station is unique in its architecture. The waiting room of the station building was opened for public use in August 2006 after being closed for more than 6 years. The rest of the station is now used by local artisans.
At the Jokioinen Museum Railway Humppila station there is a café on summer Sundays. The café is situated in the old red firewood shed by the local 4H association. In summer 2015 the café is open on later anounced days while trains are running from 10.45 to 15.00.
Just over one hundred meters from the Humppila station on the other side of the state railway tracks there is a small Talvinen hut with a cafe open on summer Sundays. Mr Talvinen lived a long life and worked also for the railway. You can visit his home and have a cup of coffee in his garden.
Just next to Humppila station there is the Humppila public beach at the lakeside. It is a pleasant place to have a refreshing swim on a hot summer's day.
About ten minutes walk from the station is the Humppila stone church designed by J. Stänbäck and built in 1922. In the church there is a famous altar painting painted by Alexandra Såltin in 1899.
If you continue to walk for another ten minutes you will get to the Kauppila Farmyard museum. It is a traditional Tavastia (Häme) farmyard milieu from the end of the 1800's, and open on summer Sundays 12 -16.
If you come to Humppila by car, after your train ride you can head to Humppila Glass Factory. Next to the glass factory there are several shops and a restaurant.
